PASSING OVER OPPOTUNITY REPEATEDLY

Opportunity 

   Opportunity is any favourable or advantageous circumstance, gift,  honour or positivity that can  locate you  unexplainably.

It is easy to say that you will start thinking more positively and less negative, but doing this desires much work because practice makes perfect.

    Adopt a new strategy by figuring out the major things that lures you into thinking negatively. Now, do the opposite. Write down the things that can make you positive and put them into action.

      Many individuals today have lost many opportunities due to their illiteracy or laziness by thinking  or hoping that it must locate them without them firstly working towards it.

The fact that opportunity comes unexpectedly doesn't mean that it comes to everyone  rather to those that are highly opportuned for it, those that have fully marshalled out to grab it with both hands 👐  and if you feel reluctant over yours, it gets high jacked from you.

        There was a man called Luis, he is  a very wealthy and popular personality  who was married to a woman called Sofia. He loved Sofia with all his heart due to  her lifestyle, beauty and multivating she was.

Though their wedding have lasted for many years without Sofia giving birth to a child, yet their love for each other kept on increasing. They even went for a medical check up to know the major cause of their problem, but they were medically proved to be perfect.                              

    Many of their relatives mocked at Luis saying that he was married to a witch, some even adviced him to get married to another woman instead of relying to get something from nothing. Without shame and with courage, he stood firm on his faith believing that no matter how long it takes, their prayers must certainly be answered.                

     Years later Sofia was medically approved to be pregnant of which she gave birth to a very handsome boy called Lucky.                       

Luis and Sofia gave Lucky the best best education to make sure that he becomes the best among all of which he made them happy by graduating with a higher grade.       

    Six years after his graduation, Luis and Sofia had an accident, lucky tried all his effort to make sure his parents survives the accident of which they were unable to survive.  The incident turned his life backwards because he invested all his money to getting his parents back to life. The company he was working with gave him a sack letter for not being present on duty of which he pleaded to them explaining to them that the major cause of him not previously being present to work was because of the health status of his parents, but his pleadings were not responded to.

    Lucky!   After being sacked, searched tirelessly for a job  but got non. He then Intended to learn a handwork as a mechanic in order to sustain both himself and his family.  

  Time came when things started moving inappropriately for him, there were even no food to eat.                                            All his friends and relatives turned their backs on him because they are no longer deriving any thing positive   from him any more.

A day came when a casual friend of he's  who  was a driver called him on phone  telling him that he is aiming to relax his head on that particular day that he should come and take his Bus 🚌  out on that particular day to know if he can be able to get something for the feeding of his family and lucky he accepted the offer joyfully without fear or  anxiety.

He started driving from junction to junction in search for passengers but got  non.

Suddenly, he saw a woman with luggages, the  woman   called him, told him where she was heading to and they took off. 

Along the way, she told him there was  friend of Her's whom she would like to  go and greet. 

Reaching the junction, Lucky stopped for her to go and greet her friend just as she said.

      Before stepping out from the bus, 🚌  she gave him her handbag 👜  to hold for her in order not to forget it where she was heading to. ''all for the fact that she's always forgetful''.  The woman came out from the bus heading to a location which she claimed her friend was residing in order to greet her. The driver turned  back looking at how beautiful  that place they were was, suddenly when when he turned towards the direction of that woman, she disappeared.

He became frightened running 🏃 🏃 🏃  in search of  her, asking people around demonstrating to them the physical appearance of the women but found her not.

Over a long interval of time, a mad  woman confronted him saying  ''ARE YOU STUPIED?  GO HOME''

  He went 🔙 home with fear 😱  and anxiety telling. On reaching his house, his wife  wasn't around then and he called her on phone, telling her to come back home instantly. Within an interval of 5 minutes his wife returned.

Henarrated to his wife the story of what he passed through on that day before returning the vehicle to his friend.

His wife  told him that they have to open the bags to know if the things inside are valuable. When they opened the hand-bag, they discovered that $100,000 and a golden necklace worthing $20,000 was‎ Inside. 

They were baffled.

He told his wife of returning the luggages and the money to a broadcasting network in search of the owner and  she cautioned him traitning to divorce him if he does such.

She told him that a poor life is one that is blind to it's purposes and has refused to see the riches life has in total.

Life is full of opportunities, they come and go, sometimes a particular one in a life time never returns back... you just have to continue living to discover more.

However, when you pass over opportunities repeatedly you obviously and literally becomes POOR

She even told him that a lot of people because of fear of how much they would lose, what friends would say and what reactions they would get; they let opportunities pass them by.

Fear is really bad especially when achieving goals, it makes you confused. It tells you how horrible it is to fail and all. But trust me their is no feeling as good as failing- yes, just try that thing you want. Try and see how you grow and pick up. Change your mindset towards failure and you will see how high you will grow.

She  also told him that could be their lifetime opportunity and it can never be regained if it gets lost. He then agreed with his wife and that was how their story changed from nobody to somebody, they are now living big. From nobody to somebody.

 Had it been he lose guarded  himself by rejecting the offer from his friend,  nothing positive could have happened. 

A lot of people waste their opportunities in life by refusing to work hard. They get offered an opportunity and start working at it but they quickly get tired. They start thinking that their opportunity doesn’t have much potential. They believe their opportunity will not lead to the future they desire. And they accordingly let go of that opportunity. 

They waste it.

    That usually happens when the opportunity comes and they’re not prepared for it. They slacked off in the past. They didn’t invest in themselves and their abilities. And now they don’t have what it takes to take full advantage of the opportunities coming their way.

Some trivialize the opportunity. They think that working on their writing skills, communication skills and taking classes is not worthy of their time. They make fun of those that go to public speaking classes. They make fun of those that go to writing classes or marketing classes or business classes. They think such skills aren’t necessary for success.

A lot of people confuse opportunity with luck.

    They think that having an opportunity means that their lives will change immediately. They think that they will become rich or successful very quickly. They think of opportunities in the same way as hitting the lottery; that the opportunity will simply get them to their goals with little to no effort on their part.

For example, you might find that there’s a good opportunity to start a business and to fill a need in the market. But if you don’t go all in and work hard every single day, you really won’t make much of your opportunity. In fact, it won’t pay off. 

There are many examples around us of people who conceived of great ideas and went after them only to quit too soon. A few months later, they see their ideas being implemented, and successfully so, by people who truly understand the hard work that takes to grow their business and reap the benefit of their hard work.

    Sometimes, an opportunity to do big things might come in disguise. In fact, most big opportunities appear in your life because you took advantage of other smaller opportunities. For example, artists who took advantage of the opportunity to join a class early on in their careers and took that opportunity seriously will find themselves presented with better and greater opportunities later in life. 

The same goes for education. Did you pursue the opportunity to educate yourself and teach yourself new things or did you say you’ll take care of that later on? Did you take extra classes about things that matter to you and what you’re passionate about? These are small opportunities, but they are also the starting points for bigger ones.

So, think of life (and opportunities) as a “chains of opportunities.”

If you think of each opportunity as a necessary link to a better one, you will begin to take each small opportunity very seriously. So look at your your past actions with maturity, and ask of yourself to do something different. Ask of yourself to do better and to take advantage of the small opportunities even if they don’t pay off right away.

    Sometimes you have to have faith that working as hard as you can and doing so as honestly as you can will open the door to better things. You don’t have to know. You just have to be honest with yourself about how hard you’re working. And things will happen. For me, that’s exactly what happened.

Ways of taking advantage of an opportunity 

Problems are Opportunities

    I’ve had a lot of good opportunities in my life. Like most people, I’ve taken some and missed some. But being able to take advantage of as many opportunities as possible is important. Sometimes just one opportunity can mean the difference between an extraordinary life and a mediocre one.

Seize Every Opportunity

Unfortunately, opportunities don’t last forever. But the good news is that you can take steps to make sure you don’t miss out on something truly life-changing.

Say “Yes” more often

    Taking advantage of opportunities in life starts with simply saying yes to them when they come around. When I went on a large trip to Asia, I asked several friends to come along. I had many show interest, but in the end they all backed out. Years later, several friends admitted how they felt like they had missed out on an amazing trip and should have come along.

Saying yes to yourself also helps. Great opportunities often come from your own great ideas so don’t say no to them. If you’re negative about yourself, you’ll just limit your own options. This is not a good state of mind to be in.

Don’t hesitate

    Opportunities are, by definition, short-lived. You need to be quick in order to get the most out of them. For example, I’ve known many men who hesitated to talk to women they were attracted to. They waited for the right time to make their move. However, as they were waiting for the right time, someone else would get there.

Opportunities are not always exclusive to you. Others might be tempted to move in on them if they see them. If you hesitate, you may lose out.

Take more risks

    Opportunities and risk-taking often go together. And the best ones are often the riskiest. Someone starting up a new business is not only taking a risk, but also taking advantage of an opportunity.

Think back to a time when you were sitting on a couch watching television. How many opportunities came your way? Watching TV is low risk and offers few opportunities. Sometimes, you have to jumpstart those opportunities with a risk or two.

 Have a positive attitude

    Having a positive attitude has several advantages. For one, it helps you succeed when you’re taking a risk. In the example above for a person starting a new business, how far do you think they’ll get if they’re negative during setbacks or they only foresee failure?

Having a positive attitude about your chances of success can give you added confidence.

Meet more people

    When it comes to opportunities, it’s often who you know and not what you know. Imagine someone looking for a job. One person has a network of five close friends and a few acquaintances and another has 30 friends and numerous acquaintances. If their qualifications are identical, it’s much more likely that the person who knows more people will get hired first.

Why is that? The person with more friends has a larger network. More jobs are found through networking than online job postings. So if you know more people, more opportunities will follow.

Be Curious

    Curiosity awakens your mind and keeps it active. Curious people ask a lot of questions and search for answers. Eventually, you’ll ask a question no one else has asked before. Answer that question and you’ll come up with a new idea.

By asking a lot of questions about the world, you get a better understanding of it. Don’t be a passive player. Try and figure out why things are the way they are. A lot of opportunities come and go without you even realizing it.

Focus

    Know what you want out of life. If you know what you want out of life, your mind will focus in on that and be on the lookout when an opportunity arises.

This also helps when determining the direction to your life. Someone with the chance to go to law school has an opportunity, but if they would hate being a lawyer they shouldn’t take it. The downside for someone who would hate being a lawyer and still goes to law school is that it takes away your time to do things you are more passionate about.

It is what economists call an opportunity cost. If this hypothetical person goes to law school, they’re going to spend a lot of time, money and energy doing something they hate. This time, money and energy could be better spent finding better opportunities they’ll enjoy more.

Make decisions and stick with them

The flip side to being focused is having no focus at all. A lot of people don’t have opportunities in their life simply because they don’t make any decisions. In the above example with the law student, this person should only stop from going to law school if they know they’ll hate it. If they are unsure or hesitant, they should go for it.

    It is always possible to make the wrong decision, but a wrong decision is still better than no decision at all. When I decided to go to graduate school to get my teaching license I was hesitant at first. I had debated doing it for years and I wasn’t sure if it was a good path for me. However, I decided to just make a decision and stick with it. Now, I just wish I had done it when I first considered it.

You must stand up 👆 for an opportunity before it can get  to  you, do yours and leave the rest for your creator.
